Successful Garage Sales are not that hard to organizeExactly what makes a successful garage sale depends a little on the person or family holding the sale. However in most cases a successful sale is one that produces a cleaner house and gives a bit of cash back in return. Now of course your definition of success may be a little different: I know mine is when it comes to garage sales and yard sales. In our case a sale is successful when we clear out a large amount of things we really no longer need or use, none of it ever comes back into the house (and almost nothing goes to the landfill), and we get hundreds of dollars back in our bank account to use on things that are more important to us than a velvet painting of dogs playing poker. The nice thing is that with a little bit of planning, proper pricing and good advertising nearly any yard sale can be a success. You also don't need to have lots of 'big-ticket' items to make your garage sale really profitable. Strategic placement of items, well made signs and good bargaining will go a long way towards helping your sale be a really profitable sale. The other pages of this garage sale site provide more details on how to properly prepare for you next sale, but if you want to make sure your sale is as good as it possibly can be you should get a copy of the Complete Garage Sale Guide. |
